Starting Solids

We have been going to Dr. D for monthly RSV shots and weight checks throughout the winter. Jacob has been measuring in the 5-10% for weight, 25% for his head circumference, and 25% for his length for his adjusted age (based on his due date). Dr. D is planning on adjusting for Jacob's prematurity until his 2nd birthday, but he is getting caught up quickly and she is pleased with how well he is doing. Dr. D thinks he will be completely caught up by his 2nd birthday! In the meantime, She bases all of our progress off Jacob's adjusted age. She recommends that solely breastfed babies begin introducing solids at 6 months, but she wanted Jacob to begin solids at 6 months adjusted (~8 months). So, over the last couple of weeks we have begun introducing some solid foods - so far we have tried green beans, peas, carrots, squash, rice rice cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, peaches, applesauce, and a fruit mix. We are getting better at eating with a spoon, but it still requires A LOT of patience on Mommy's part (and Jacob's part too!) It is also quite a messy process! Here are some pictures from our adventures!
What a cutie!
Yummy! ... WHAT A MESS!

Not a fan of rice cereal

He LOVES sticking his tongue out!
