Happy First (1.13) Birthday, Morgan!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MORGAN!

I can honestly say this has probably been the busiest and most stressful summer of my life. The summer semester is said to be the toughest semester of the three year nurse anesthesia program, and I am so glad it is over! We knew that the summer was going to be tough, so, we planned on delaying Morgan's birthday party to allow me to be able to give it the proper attention. It was tough seeing her birthday come and go without the usual celebration, but the party turned out beautiful! And, I was able to enjoy the party and the planning by delaying it!

At 13 months, Morgan is walking, running, & climbing. She is definitely a SUPER busy girl like her Mama! She has developed such a personality and attracts friends wherever we go! She is alway sure to give a big grin, a little cackle, wave, and "hiiiya". She is talking and babbling a lot, but does not consistently use her words. She will say -- That, Hi, Bye, Mama, Da, and Papa. She often surprises me with her understanding of questions and will give a BIG nod for yes or lots of head shaking for no. She also responds surprisingly well to request like-- Pick that up, Morgan, Come Back, or No.

She is quite a little eater and will often eat more than Jacob (not saying much but that's a different story)! She must have gotten Daddy's love for food and will really eat basically anything you put in front of her. We have pretty much weaned the bottle off completely... except for emergencies ;) And, she is drinking a little bit of milk in a sippy cup --- It seems that she may have a bit of sensitivity to dairy so we are trying to limit that a bit. The pacifier is different story, and she LOVES that thing... I am not looking forward to losing that thing...

Happy Birthday, Morgan

I cannot believe this lady is already a year old! What a fun little girl she is, with TONS of personality. She does have some drama queen tendencies, and Daddy has dubbed her "Diva Marie." She is a very independent little squirt and will throw a complete fit if she doesn't get her way! I am sure that feisty personality is going to come in very handy in fending off big bro in the days and years to come. (I already see some sibling rivalry going on there.) 

Miss Morgan is doing great with finger foods and already wants to feed herself with a spoon... Yikes! She is doing great with the sippy cup and she will be on regular milk as soon as my freezer stash runs out... I'm sure the real drama queen is about to come out! She is starting to get the hang of walking and is just beginning to really use walking for getting around the house. 

I had a bit of a sad/guilty mommy today realizing that her actually first birthday will kind of stink, but I am looking forward to a BIG first birthday bash with our family in OKC over my August break from school! This semester (as promised) has proven to be the toughest yet, and I am looking forward to finishing up the didactic portion this summer and moving on to clinicals (less book work more hands-on patients work)!
